About Uttir
Uttir is a free, privacy-first collection of 106 browser-based utilities for developers, designers, writers, students, and anyone who needs to convert, calculate, format, or generate something quickly. Every tool runs entirely in your browser — your files, text, and inputs never leave your device.
What we believe
Most "free" online tools are not really free. You pay with signups, ads, captchas, rate limits, uploaded data, or harvested behavioral profiles. We think that's a bad trade for a tool you could have run locally. Uttir exists to prove that a useful, fast toolbox can run entirely on the client, make no compromises on privacy, and still be pleasant to use.
- Private. Whenever a tool can run in the browser, it does. There is no backend that processes user data. We can't read your input even if we wanted to, because we never receive it.
- Free. Every tool is free to use, with no signup, no paywall, and no feature gating. The site is supported by unobtrusive on-page ads that never interfere with the tool itself.
- Fast. Tools load instantly and stay responsive. Pages are static, served from a global edge network, and each tool ships only the code it needs.
- Simple. Each tool solves one problem well. No clutter, no dark patterns, no upsell modals, no notification spam, no "subscribe to keep using" walls.
What's here
Today the site hosts 106 tools across 16 categories: developer tools, text utilities, calculators, color and design helpers, image and PDF tools, SEO checkers, generators, converters, and more. New tools are added regularly. Recent additions are flagged with a "New" badge for the first two weeks, so you can see what's new at a glance.
Beyond the tools, we publish in-depth guides and roundups on the Uttir blog — everything from "how to format JSON" to "UUID v4 vs v7". Each post links to the relevant tool, so you can read the explanation and try the tool in the same session.
What makes Uttir different
Other "online tools" sites tend to fall into one of two camps:
- Upload-based tools send your file to a server, process it, and send it back. The latency is fine, but you've just handed your file to a stranger. For a screenshot that's no big deal; for a contract draft, source code, or financial spreadsheet, it's not.
- Ad-stuffed tools run client-side but bury the actual tool under three layers of ads, "related searches", and "you might also like" modals. The tool itself is fast; finding it is not.
Uttir is the third option: a fast, clean, client-side toolbox that respects your time and your data. No upload, no captcha, no "verify you are human", no modal popping up over the tool you're using. You land on a page, the tool is there, you use it, you leave.
How to verify the privacy claim
Don't take our word for it. Open any tool, paste in some text or a file, and watch your browser's DevTools Network tab. The only requests are the initial page load and your ad impression — no upload of your input, no analytics call, no third-party fetch. If you turn the network off entirely (DevTools → Network → Offline), every tool still works. That's the proof.
Data and privacy
Uttir does not collect, log, or transmit any user input. The site has no analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, no third-party fonts, and no third-party scripts beyond the on-page ad provider. Cookies are not used. The full privacy policy is at /privacy.
